SHAPES

One flat, four young adults, the Universe on their laptops.

This experimental narrative feature film collects scenes and episodes from a delirious and painful everyday life.

A Word from the Creators

This film was shot in 2016 but the post-production was only completed during the months of pandemic.
This was due to the director enduring an existential crisis and being unable to come to terms with his own film and with his role as a filmmaker.

The film itself was shot in the director’s living room, in a run-down flat in Brixton, London. When he asked his landlord if he was okay with him building a lighting system in the ceiling, the man just replied ‘In this flat you can do whatever you want’.

The film is dark and angry, perhaps the last kicks of a post-teenager’s consciousness trying to become adult through infantile sufferings.
It is a collection of scenes and lucubrations which describes a time where the director was mostly staying at home, with little to no money, shoplifting to survive and making up spiritual enemies among the State and the film industry.

Now that time has past, thanks as well to this film.
What is left is this strange and claustrophobic cinematic experience, a mixture between an abortion and a lucid delirium.
